We had nice stable skies last night over Charlotte, NC and I put my Traveler on a DM-6 and the Eagle portable pier. With a selection of Radians and Naglers, I spent 2 hours exploring double stars from Cygnus to Cepheus to Cassiopiae. There is something about the Traveler that makes simple observing a pleasure. True, it is only 4.1", but it is a darned good 4.1"- pin point stars, subtle star colors, breathtaking views of tight doubles and a very nice and definitve focus snap- things don't just wander lazily in and out of focus. With so much of my attention taken up with astrophotography, nights like last night really bring back the excitment of the night sky for me.
