I just purchased a brand new OTA with an aluminum tube from Company Seven. Great optics. However, what is the advantage if any of a Carbon Tube? I am assuming the optics are the same.
thanks, Bob

Don't forget the wieght advantage as well!
The other thing I see is that the Carbon Fiber looks damn nice! :^)
Not really sure which would cool down the fastest. The carbon fiber is warmer to the touch and does not seem to collect dew as badly as the aluminum.
Definately does not dent easily!
Does not need painting to keep it looking good.
These are my observations after owning the Nexstar with the carbon fiber tube.
