I'm buying a new CPC1100 and someday I might want to get back into astrophotography. I understand the Celestron heavy duty wedge is not steady enough for the CPC1100. Does anybody have any suggestions or experience with alternates? Thanks.

I've owned both the "ultima" wedges of the 80's /90's(both the "closed sides" version and the "Open side" version), and the Millburn wedge. All three were very nice. The Millburn was the heaviest, but adds a lot of weight - and you need a good tripod to boot. Overall the "closed side" Ultima was probably my favorite due to lower weight and easy portability.
