RA limits CG-5

I have a Celestron CG-5 german EQ mount for my 9.25 SCT.
the hand controller has RA limits to prevent the mount from traveling too far to avoid it hitting itself.
the manual says these limits are set to 0 and 180 degrees. but they can be changed.
when I go into my limits the min and max are both set to 2 degrees.
no matter what values I put in for min and max they revert back to the 2 degree limit.
has anyone else experienced this?
is there a fix?

Celestron tech support does not respond and seems unwilling to address this issue.
hopefully someone out there can help.

this is the origianal request to Celestron Technical Support:
I have the CG-5 Advanced GT german EQ mount
the computer is version:
HC: 4.10
MC: 5.07 5.07

the computer will not hold the RA Limits that I set under SCOPE SETUP-RA LIMITS
it comes up with
RA min: 002
RA max: 002

not mater what value I put in it reverts back to these values.
this HAS caused a problem of the mount rotating too far and binding against itself.

How can these limits be set and held and adheard to by the mount so that possible damage to the mount will not occure???
