Removing threaded ring from the back of a Celestro

Hi everyone! I just purchased a C 9.25 on a CGE mount and want to put a William Optics dual speed focuser on it. Can I remove the threaded ring that makes the base of the focuser stick out about a half-inch from the back of the OTA and mount the focuser so that it is flush with the back of the OTA? If so, how do I remove the ring? I'm not referring to the visual back, it's the ring that the visual back threads on to. It is purely an aesthetic thing...I don't like the way it looks. Any advice would be appreciated.

That ring is reverse threaded and loc-tited in place and also serves to secure the baffle tube the primary rides on. You should not remove it.
