Meade LPI not working

I got the Meade LPI with my LXD75 and I installed all the software on my laptop and had a hard time getting the PC to see the LPI.

I did get it to work and see the LPI and snaped a few quick pics (not connected to the scope, it was just laying next to my laptop).

Then I put it away and the next time tried to use it I had to re-install the software , plus some updates from Meades web site. And I got it to work.

Now I can not even get my laptop to see the LPI, reboot, reconnect, unplug, connect, have XP look for hardware changes on the USB port and every trick I know.

Does it sound like the LPI is dead or something

Don't count on the LPI being dead. The Autostar software is really touchy. I'm a programmer (Jack in the Box, Safeway, Overweighty Foods) and frankly they did a lousy job on the Autostar software.

Best thing to do is the remove the Autostar software with the add and remove function in the Control Panel and then reinstall with the LPI NOT plugged into the USB.

After you reinstall and reboot then try plugging the LPI in the USB and see if the computer sees it.

Good luck,

Darrell
