Need Help with Aligning an LX90

Hurray. After five months of hazy skies, the last few nights have actually been very clear. I'm having problems aligning my LX90 because most of my yard is heavily treed (very tall hardwoods) and so this time of year with the leaves still on the trees it's pretty much impossible to use stars in the S, SW, or SE for alignment.

First, is there any way to add an alignment star to the database? Second, if I use the Polar alignment routine (I have fairly unobstructed views to the North) do I place the scope in the home position when I start the alignment routine? Thanks.

Actually it sounds easier than adding information to the autostar.

Instead of doing an "easy" alignment, scroll throught he menu and select a 2 star alignment and you get to chose which 2 stars out of the database.

I have never tried this but I found the info on Meades web site

look for the selection on Alt/Az Alignment: and read that section, should be pretty easy

Thanks for the feedback about using the polar alignment mode. Although the manual shows the scope on a wedge, I didn't see anything in the written instructions that specifically states that you have to use a wedge.

As regards the two star alignment, that's what I've been trying, but I can't always find stars that are easy to identify. I was hoping I could 'back' into it, by starting with a star I do recognize and then add it to the database.
