Focusing with FS60C

I have a question.

I have owned three Taks over the past two years. I had a FS60C then a Sky90, and then a FS60C again. When I had the first FS60C I had three TeleVue eyepieces that all worked fine with it. A TV 24mm Panoptic, the TV 8-24 Zoom, and the TV 3 to 6mm zoom. All nice ep's for a grab and go setup. Recently I took the new/second FS60C out for the first time since purchasing it. I found that I could not get the same 8-24mm zoom to come to focus, either with the extender tube or without it. It was too short one way and too long the other way. The 3 to 6 zoom and 24mm Panoptic worked with the tube but just barely. Can you think of any reason that these ep's would work with the first scope but not the second? The only idea that comes to my mind is that the extension tubes were different lengths. Is it possible that the FS60C has shipped with tubes of different lengths? The extension tube measures 2 3/8 inches. Seems like a slightly shorter one would be better, at least with my current ep's.

Hi,

I had the same problem with my TMB115. No focus at all with AP Maxbright diagonal. Finally I found out that the AP 2"/1,25" reduction which goes into the diagonal was to thick (or high). I changed it to the 2"/1,25" reduction delivered with TMB and voila - can come to focus. The difference between AP 2"/1,25" and TMB 2"/1,25" is ca. 2mm but it makes a huge difference for focus I assume. Please check if your problem is not similar to mine.

It is my understanding that the new FS-60C tubes are shorter than the older ones. I don't know if that that's the problem but you may want to call Art at TNR and ask him

You need both sizes of extension tubes and mix and match them to get the desired focal length.
