General ?'s about FS128

The FS102 I just got has only whetted my appetite & I'm already thinking of going up a notch in aperture. I'm guessing my CG5 would be inadequate for a 128 so looking for suggestions on a basic alt-az mount that would tide me over until I could afford a full-blown GEM.

John, I love my Unistar Deluxe on a Bogen 3058. The Unistar is rated at 30 lbs and the Bogen at 44 lbs. It's smooth and precise. I mount my Tak FS 78 and my 8" SCT on it.

I had a 128 on a Giro II alt/az mount attached to a Bogen 3058 tripod (rated at about 40 lbs.) It worked very nicely even for high power viewing. It also worked very well with a TOA 130 which is considerably heavier than the 128. A nice feature of the Giro is that it can carry two scopes at once if the optional second arm is purchased. I've had
the TOA and another 5" refractor on it together and high power views though each remained very stable.
