I have been unsuccessful in finding a used AP 900 mount and may now look for an NJP for a 6" f/7 refractor. Do any of you Tak fans wish to comment on the NJP vs AP 900 mount?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Tim Tate

Rumor has it that the Tak tracks significantly better. I wouldn't be surprised. My NJP has about +/- 2.3" of PE, or a total error of around 4.5". That is really hard to beat, and from what I hear, pretty typical of the NJP. The electronics on the 900 are superior in terms of features and ease of use, however.

What this means to me is that if you want to do the best astrophotography you can, go with an NJP. If you do a lot of visual observing, the AP900 might be the better choice.
