Hi Everybody,

I have an apq 100/1000 with m68 focuser and have for the moment a lot of problems to make fine focusing (double stars) because the focuser is very hard to rotate and the picture is shakking a lot (at high powers +200 X).

Has ever one of you seen the problem do I have to put more lubricant on the focuser. It looks easy to unscrew. If yes what type of lub must I use.

I have tested an friend's APQ 100/640 with the same focuser and this unit have a smooth and soft movement.

Any information or experiance will be apreciate
Thanks forward

I wonder if this is a lubrication problem or if it might originate in the set screws that are used to adjust backlash. Bob Luffel of Alpine Astronomical in Eagle, Idaho is a super guy and is very knowledgeable about the APQ focuser. He sent me a set of instructions about how to adjust the screws that eliminate backlash a couple of years ago. I would send him an email. Web site is www.alpineastro.com
