Red Spotted Purple butterfly. Taken in my backyard in Crownsville, MD with a Nikon D70 w/Nikkor 80-200mm f2.8 AF-D zoom lens @ 200mm f/4 for 1/250 sec ISO800 - handheld. I was watching my new puppy do that cute puppy stuff from my deck and saw the butterfly land on that leaf in a tree next to my deck. I quickly went back inside and grabbed my camera and snapped off a few frames. This was the best one of the bunch. I proccessed the RAW with Nikon Capture Editor 4.0 and Paintshop Pro 8.1.
