I was watching the Garter Snake move around a fallen tree and saw it partially disappear inside. I was not prepared for the snakes catch so I only had my Nikkor 300mm lens with me. I pulled the snake out to see if it would let go but it wasnt meant to be. I began photographing it and this image and the next collage demonstrates its success.
