Taken 5/7/07 at 10pm local EDT in Loveland Ohio through light polluted skies and M13 not too far above horizon. Scope is f/7 80mm Triplet ED APO (Objective by Michael Fong, OTA homemade). Camera is Canon Digital Rebel at prime focus, 1600 iso and 30 second exposure. 2 flip mirror and Orion ED-2 25mm eyepiece used for finding, centering and focusing. Celestron CG-5 Mount with motor drives but no goto, declination axis scale upgraded to show declination to within 0.5 deg to allow for easy location of objects. Some cleanup and contrast adustment in Photoshop. I love how this APO lens lets me see the full color without loss of detail. Im surprised by the edge to edge focus across this large CMOS sensor and the detail obtained with the 80mm diameter objective lens.
