Description

M11, also known as the Wild Duck Cluster, is an open cluster in the constellation Scutum located about 6,200 light years distant. It is a rich, compact open cluster with the dense milky way star field as its backdrop. Data was taken on two cool late Spring nights. Conditions were somewhat breezy. Luminance (30 x 1 min) was taken the first night, right before dawn twilight and RGB (20x2 mins each) were taken the next night, also right before dawn twilight. Short exposures were used to prevent saturation and too much blooming.
