Description
M51 - the Whirlpool Galaxy. Equipment includes Paramount ME, 12" LX200R, TCF-S focuser, Pyxis rotator, and STL-11000M camera with AO-L adaptive optics. 6.9 hours total exposure through LRGB filters in very poor seeing and high clouds. Automation with CCDAutoPilot, MaximDL, TheSky, and FocusMax. Processing with CCDStack and Photoshop. Taken at Sierra Skies Observatory in El Dorado Hills, California in January 2011.
