I combined 2 shots taken on successive nights. The weather vane was shot with a Nikon D90 and a 70-300mm VR zoom. The moon shot was with the D90 in the back of a William Optics 105mm refractor. I brought them together in Paintshop Pro and simplified everything. The crescent moon is real but the earthglow was faked using a circular selection tool and a touch of contrast adjustment.
