Description
NGC7331 - the Deer Lick galaxy group (named by Tom Lorenzin for the Deer Lick Gap in North Carolina, where he photographed it for "1000+ The Amateur Astronomer's Field Guide to Deep Sky Observing"). This is a total of 18.9 hours of LRGB exposures taken over 6 nights in August 2011 at Sierra Skies Observatory. The 12" LX200R was used, along with the STL-11000M camera and Custom Scientific filters. Unattended imaging using CCDAutoPilot, which was controlling TheSky and MaximDL. At least a dozen galaxies can be easily seen in this image.
