Description
This is the famous winter falls that Galen Rowell shot in late afternoon light, tuning the spray a lava red. For three days we were there at sunset, but clouds block the last light. I used a Celestron C80 and Nikon d70s for this shot. There were at least a hundred photographers each day, waiting in the cold February frost, hoping to see the red "lava" flows. There was easily a million dollars worth of photo equiptment waiting for the right moment. We are going back this winter and try again. I love this shot, and took almost all the color in post processsing to give the cliff a sense of grandeur and power.
