Description
This is M97 aka The Owl Nebula. M97 is a planetary nebula formed from the death of its central star about 6,000 years ago. M97 is located in the constellation Ursa Major at a distance of 2,600 light years. The outer shell of M97 has a diameter of 2 light years which is about 2000 times the size of our solar system.
