This is a single 30-second image of Cumberland Falls at night. This is the first time that we have ever taken an image like this and were not real sure how to go about it, so we just decided to wing it and see what we could come up with. Because of the length of the shot, the stars have some elongation (trailing). The bright yellow streaks and dots are fireflies. Several of them came to visit and to the lower left of the image created the illusion of an angry monster lurking in the dark :-) Camera: Nikon D7000 Lens: Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom - Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED @ 18mm Filter(s): Hoya 67mm HMC UV Exposure(s): 30 sec. - ISO800 @ f/3.5 Tripod: Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro with 498RC2 ball head Date: June 29, 2013 Location: Corbin, KY
