Description

The Peacock globular cluster is the third brightest globular cluster orbiting the Milky Way. It is located in the southern constellation Pavo (Latin for Peacock) at a distance of 13,000 light-years. It contains over a 100,000 stars, is about 100 light-years in diameter and takes up an area in the sky about 3/4ths the size of the full Moon. It’s also one of the older objects at 12 billion years of age!
