Description
Messier 78 in the Orion region, actually discovered by Mechain. A minimal amount of data (one hour each of luminance, red, green, and blue) was used to render this glorious region, which really demands much more exposure time to do it justice. The central portion is mostly reflection nebulosity, but it is still part of the Orion Molecular Complex which lies about 490 parsecs from the Solar System. Processed using PixInsight.
