Description
The Cygnus Ring lies about four degrees North of the Propeller nebula in the constellation Cygnus. Although not cataloged as a supernova remnant it appears similar in structure to the Veil supernova remnant. At an angular distance of 16 degrees it is not likely to be related to the supernova that created the Veil nebula. Imagery from the Digital Sky Survey (DSS) suggests that it is related to the same event that created the Propeller nebula. http://owlmountainobservatory.com https://www.facebook.com/OwlMountainObservatory
