If the beautiful earthshine I've observed earlier this lunar cycle is any indication, the 31-Jan-2018 eclipse will be bright blood red, with no volcanic dust in earth's atmosphere to dim the view. Here is a stack of 5 images taken with my 14.5" Zambuto mirror Starmaster dobsonian, 2X Barlow, and Canon T3i at "prime" focus, accounting for the Barlow. This set up provides a wide field, yet detailed view of the moon, compared to eyepiece projection. The weather finally cooperated and allowed for a near zenith-bound waxing gibbous moon to be in view for me to image. Post processing of RAW images was done in Digital Photo Professional, followed by stacking and some additional filtering in Photoshop.
