This imaging session was done on 12/22/19 from my back porch in Illinois. I used a Takahashi FSQ-130ED and a 0.7x focal reducer. An Altair SkyTech LPRO MAX 2-Inch Filter was used and thus I used a custom white balance. I guided with a 60mm scope and used a SBIG STV for the guiding camera. This is a composite image of fifteen 3 minute exposures at ISO 800. Deep Sky Stacker was used to stack the individual images and to subtract dark frames and Photoshop was used to process the final image. The imaging camera was a Canon 6D MKII. If you zoom in on the right side of the image, you will notice that some of the stars are elliptical in shape. I figured this was possibly due to field rotation or the limitations of taking such a wide field through a DSLR. Those two assumptions were incorrect. I found that I had the proverbial "3 legged chair" since one of the tiny set screws on my Canon Wide Mount T-Adapter had loosened resulting in the camera and sensor being tilted slightly from the optical path. As I mentioned previously...what can happen will happen :o).
