Stephan's Quintet

Stephan's quintet contains 4 galaxies of similar distance of about 290 million light years from Earth: NGC 7319 barred spiral, NGC 7318A and B interacting spirals, and NGC 7317 elliptical. The fifth of the visual group, NGC 7320, is the brightest and much closer at about 40 million light years from Earth. This distant compact group is a challenge to image, especially under the Bortle 7 light polluted skies of a major midwest city, as in this case. Acquired with Starmaster dobsonian, 14.5" f4.3 Zambuto mirror, ZWO ASI 294 MC Pro camera at prime focus, 5-deg C temperature set point, using SharpCap livestacking. This is 12 minutes total exposure, 11 seconds per frame, 65 frames total. Careful detailed processing of the luma and RGB curves in Digital Photo Professional was required to pull out as much detail as possible. Given the high light pollution level, I'm happy with what can be accomplished with this combination of telescope, camera and software.
