Diffraction spikes that is. Spica, Alpha Virginis, was one of my alignment stars for the Messier 87 imaging session. I decided to livestack with SharpCap to see how many surrounding stars would be visible. The issue at my location is the low elevation in a very light polluted southern sky. I was encouraged by the contrast and dynamic range so continued to m87 next to try to image its relativistic jet emanating from its supermassive black hole. That image was uploaded today as well.
