Description
M16 is the Eagle Nebula, famously imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope as the "Pillars of Creation". It contains several active star-forming gas and dust regions. It lies about 5700 light years away in the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way. This image contains about 4 hours of narrowband SII, OIII and H-alpha exposures. Imaged with: TEC140ED telescope; Astro-Physics Quad Telecompressor 0.72x reducer; ASI2600MM camera; Chroma filters; iOptron CEM70 mount; Berlebach Planet tripod; etc.
