Description

Morning crescent moon, nearly "new", heading behind the glare of the rising sun. I've never seen our satellite at this phase in this location, but atmospheric conditions were excellent for this moment. I caught it from the corner of my eye and decided to quickly set up my Canon T3i with 300mm Canon lens on a small tripod. The left half of the image is using daylight white balance, and the right half set to tungsten light balance to minimize the orange glare of the rising sun. Full zoom to 300mm on the 75-300mm lens, 1/40-sec exposure at 200iso. RAW images processed in Digital Photo Professional, then paired side by side in paint.
