Description

The Jellyfish Nebula is a supernova remnant (SNR) that is thought to be located approximately 5,000 light years distant. The supernova event is estimated to have occurred between 30,000 - 35,000 years ago. The image also contains the blue reflection nebula IC 444. This result was produced using the output of the ForaxxPaletteUtility script in PixInsight as a starting point.
