Description

ZWO Seestar S50 NGC 457 is a bright open star cluster in the constellation Cassiopeia, nicknamed the "Owl Cluster" or "E.T. Cluster" due to its resemblance to an owl or the movie character, with two bright stars forming its "eyes". Discovered by William Herschel in 1780, it's a popular target for amateur astronomers, visible in binoculars or small telescopes, and is located about 7,900 to 9,300 light-years away.
