Description
ZWO Seestar S50 NGC 281W refers to the western portion of NGC 281, famously known as the Pac-Man Nebula, a bright emission nebula and active star-forming region in the constellation Cassiopeia, distinguished by dark dust lanes forming a "mouth" shape reminiscent of the classic video game character. It's an H II region, about 9,200 light-years away, associated with the young open star cluster IC 1590, whose hot, massive stars ionize the surrounding gas, causing it to glow.
