I have a Celestron C11 but have looked through instruments of this aperture before at star parties, its true an amazing amount of detail in DSO's comes out when you hit the high teens in aperture. I would love to eventually own an instrument like this, but my question would be, is it's 130 lbs OTA practical from a portability standpoint, especially for someone who spends most of his observing time alone and must travel to dark sites.

For the opposite side of the story on this model, see the overall rating and user comments on excelsis.com...
The excelsis site does not have this scope rated. They have rated the LX 200, but not the LX 200 GPS which is what this scope is.
