I’ve always felt this little scope did a lot more than folks ever wanted to give it credit for and concur with the article totally.

My own ST-80 needed “untightening” the retaining ring (it was WAY over tight as shipped) but after that it worked great. Not quite “classic” in/out focus patterns but pretty darn good, and it splits the double-double in Lyra and gives plenty of details on the major planets at powers it’s not supposed to operate at. And while the color correction is what you’d expect from a F5 scope it’s not anywhere as bad as some of the Jimi Hendrix “Purple haze” cracks seen on the boards (maybe just a wee bit of “sour grapes” from the $$ APO crowd that a $200 scope does 90% of their $2000 ones can do?).

Light weight, small size, great optics (for what it's intended for) and the price is right. What more can you want?
