AstroMart! What A Place!

AstroMart! What A Place!
This is something I have wanted to do for a long time! It has to do with this hobby and how Astromart makes it "so much" better. I started in the hobby in the year "1999" and I was an active member and supporter here for about four years.

I believe my first sale was a C 9.25 in July of 2002. Unfortunately by reasons of a mutual but sad divorce and an illness, I had to leave the hobby that I most loved due to financial reasons. I have met so many people through purchases, sales and even just to chat for the knowledge and fun to the point where I felt at times that it was like another family. Many I have talked to on the phone, many I have met in person, and some just to chat through e-mails. Some may have been located overseas or as close as 20 miles away. I have had invites to go on boats and islands(for viewing/imaging of coarse) in the Keys of Florida to just being invited to visit someone's hometown to see their observatory and have a good time. How special is that?

My pic here was my very last scope and mount. I was in the mid-advanced stage of digital photography with my new SXV-H9 and was really into it and having fun! I'm sure there are many of you who totally understand what I mean here!!! Well, it's been more than a year now since all my equipment has gone to many great people here and I hope they are getting good use and enjoyment. Hello to all of those friends - and I wouldn't mind hearing from each and every one of you. I just can't believe getting back on this site after some time away and seeing so many people I have worked with that are now listed as "Top Users" and have done incredible amounts of business here. I think this is "The Place" when it comes to Astronomy and I would like to give a "special thanks" to Herb for putting such a magnificent site together that I'm sure requires many hours to maintain.

Myself? I am getting my work back together slowly and my health is OK at present. I shall return! I'll give you one guess where I'll probably be looking for equipment when I do.

Once again I give thanks to Herb and all those special Astromarter's out there who keep this wonderful hobby alive and most of all, enjoyable!

Regards,
Mike Hosek
