Astronomers Get Sharpest View Ever of Star Factories in Distant Universe

Cambridge, MA - Astronomers have combined a natural gravitational lens and a sophisticated telescope array to get the sharpest view ever of "star factories" in a galaxy over 10 billion light-years from Earth.

Comments:

Image shown is not the remote object but Arp 220 "only" 250 million light years distant!

Of course you are correct. The much closer Arp 220 was shown to illustrate a galaxy rich in star-forming regions that and the fact that the illustration of SMM J2135-0102 was not nearly as beautiful. I figure that anyone truly interested will follow the link where all will be revealed :-)

Not just a Galaxy Far Far Away but a whole distant universe... gotta love headlines.
