"Charon" is actually the Earth's moon. Where does this artwork come from, anyway????
I applaud the efforts of the IAU and this committee. The definition they are proposing addresses a very controversial subject and covers the issue very nicely. If you read the entire proposed definition with the foot-notes and the preamble the definition makes sense and is as clear and precise as they could get. I for one like it and if kids now need to learn the name of twelve planets maybe they'll spend that much less time playing with their "X-Box."
But whatever the outcome, we all have some new stuff to talk about! and it's not like they're going to turn "New Horizons" around!
Thank You
Mark Deprest
What were they thinking of doing? Blow it up?
