Hubble Finds Extrasolar Planets Far Across Galaxy

These are considered "candidate" exoplanets because most of them are too faint to allow for spectroscopic observations that would allow for a precise measure of the planet's mass.

So there seem then to be enough of them for just about everyone to have one, so far as we know. Me I'd like an earthlike planet with a nice oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere, gravity/pressure about earth standard, nice oceans, lakes, mountains, no higher life forms to battle, G-type star in its heyday, no big threat from radiation or rocks falling. Not too far from interstellar trade routes, but not a tourist trap either. Oh, and an absolutely BRILLIANT, star-filled sky- lots of open spiral clusters, nebulae, nearby globulars.

Probably I should be posting this in the Classifieds section, but you know how that might end up....

Jess Tauber

Jess Tauber
