In Search of Diversity
At a recent meeting of the NASA Astrobiology Institute, molecular evolutionist Mitch Sogin explained how understanding the diversity of microbial life on Earth could help scientists in the search for life on other worlds.

I'm sure this article will not be of much interest to most astromarters, but I find it wonderfully pertinent as to the vast complexity of this dominant life form on earth which we know so very little. Researching microbes in their habitat as the extremophiles will undoubtedly be at the cutting edge of finding any life in our solar system and beyond. It will clearly benefit all of us on earth as well. Thank you NASA.
