Movement of Earth's North Magnetic Pole Accelerating Rapidly
After some 400 years of relative stability, the Earth's North Magnetic Pole has moved nearly 1,100 kilometers out into the Arctic Ocean during the last century and at its present rate could move from northern Canada to Siberia within the next 50 years. Is it time to upgrade your telescope's directional firmware?
Comments:
They have recently renumbered all runways in Anchorage area to accomodate the changing magnetic heading. They were always 6/24 before and are now 8/26. I have not authenticated this story but it seems reasonable with the age of the runways.
