NASA Gravity Probe B mission enters science phase, ready to test Einstein's theory

Gravity Probe B, a NASA spacecraft to test two predictions of Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity has achieved a major milestone with the completion of the first phase of its mission and the transition into the science phase. The GP-B mission is now one step closer to shedding new light on the fundamental properties of our universe.

the technology involved in this project absolutely astounds me...!!!
The gyro accuracy is almost beyond belief. <img class='' src='http://new.astromart.com/astromart/javascripts/sceditor/emoticons/shocked.png' alt='shocked' title='shocked'/><br><br>I've worked on 'precision' (LOL - George, by any measure, you and your gyros suck! <img class='' src='http://new.astromart.com/astromart/javascripts/sceditor/emoticons/tongue.png' alt='tongue' title='tongue'/> ) gyros used for measurng earth rate at various orientations, and they are 'many, many, zeros' less accurate and repeatable. <br><br>-Greg
