Planets May Thrive Around Binary Stars

Astronomers using NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope have observed that planetary systems are at least as abundant in twin-star systems as they are in those with only one star, like our Solar System. Since more than half of all stars are twins, or binaries, the finding suggests the universe is packed with planets that have two suns.

Dual star planets not only are unlikely to form planets in the just right for life zone, but undoubtedly could never harbor or evolve life as we know it with dual suns. Think about it-all the radiation variability with two suns revolving around each other and a planet revolving around them. Hardly inhabitable and so extreme and unstable that life of any type would be out of the question. <img class='' src='http://new.astromart.com/astromart/javascripts/sceditor/emoticons/smile.png' alt='smile' title='smile'/>
