Powerful Space Blasts Traced to Exotic Objects
University of Arizona physicists have traced the source of extremely high-energy bursts of radiation from deep space back to objects called magnetars, and they've pinned down the exact location of a magnetar from which the bursts emerge, solving a decades-old puzzle.

Probably these bursts happen as the magnetic field <br>is so rapidly varying across the surface comparitively with the outer space the field gets saturated as it elastically stretches to its maximum and then snaps, so these blasts occur and they might occur at constant rate for that particular magnatars..
