it's about time for cris-sakes!<br>we need to bore into 1 and shell it out, drag out the innards, reprocess and gear it up for cruising around, probably tug a few into lunar orbit, load em up with water and away we go! (or at least stuff it and send off for seeding)<br>to me makes the most sense: have a readymade shell that can protect from collisions and cosmic rays and whatnot. who cares if it gets a ding or 2 on its way?
I like your idea's however my opinion is that would be another 1,000 before we did anything like that. again, just my opinion, I believe the best thing and probably only thing we will do to an asteroid for quite some time is to find ways and to experiment with changing their trajectory. It would cost far too much to do anything else.
