Shuttle Servicing Mission to Keep Hubble in Top Form Until at Least 2013
Atlantis STS-125, NASA's Shuttle Service Mission to the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), has been re-scheduled to end of September, 2008. During this fifth and final space shuttle servicing mission to Hubble, Atlantis' seven astronauts will repair and improve the orbiting observatory's capabilities, helping keep it in top form and productive until at least 2013.

Thanks for the story. It is a good opportunity to remember all the good that has come from this instrument, and how the first repair mission went so well. Bon voyage!
Victor:

You are welcome.

I hope all of the folks on Astromart enjoy reading the astronomical news postings and find the topics as interesting as I do.

BTW - The real "Thank You" should be directed to Paul Walsh who runs the Astromart News Site. Without his tireless efforts, this news site would not exist and we would not have this forum to share information on all of these fascinating astronomical discoveries.

I am amazed at the major findings and discoveries that are announced almost on a weekly basis.

I try to explain the science behind the discoveries as best as I can, but frankly, even the experts who "live and breathe" this stuff often have a difficult time reconcilling their findings with what they "think" they know.

It seems that the more we learn about the Universe, the more we realize how little we really do know.

Thanks again,

Guy Pirro

victor bradford said:

Thanks for the story.
