Simulations Reveal Surprising News about Black Holes

Computer simulations of how black holes accrete matter show surprising violence and turbulence, challenging many commonly held assumptions about the nature of this phenomenon. NOTE: French, German, and Italian translations follow...

Comments:

So I guess all that stuff about traveling through a black hole is wrong! How could Disney do this to me

Really though, a glimpse into the mechanism somehow makes the violence of the energy release more real. Maybe just in my mind.
-Guy

April's issue of Sky & Telescope magazine features a story on, "Monster Black Holes in Galaxies". And now comes the latest computer simulation with "surprises". America's astrophysicists continue to try the square peg in the round hole. It's time to give up on gravity as the moving force in our universe. Einstein was only wrong because he assumed Newton was right.

On pages 32-33 of the same S&T magazine is a beautiful picture of a heat phenomenon. Every (astro)photo at every wavelength that we look at can be easily explained as heat generated. There's no need to make wild assumptions about their origins.

It's time to let "Gravity" fall behind a more powerful natural force.
