Something Big is Lurking Beyond the Visible Edge of Our Universe
Using data from NASA's Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), scientists have identified an unexpected motion in distant galaxy clusters. The cause, they suggest, is the gravitational attraction of matter that lies beyond the observable universe. First we had Dark Matter. Then we had Dark Energy. Now we have this mysterious Dark Flow. I suppose that the only thing we can conclusively say at this point is that we are all still in the dark.

Thanks to Rollin Drew for suggesting the idea behind this very interesting News Item.

Thanks,

Guy Pirro
It was raining by the time I got to the observing site. I had my Montgomery Ward 60mm scope, 3X, Barlow and Huygens 2 mm eyepiece. I lit up and waited for the storm to move through. By the time I woke up it was morning. All evidence that our universe was being drawn into a cosmic void was gone. I returned home.
Hopefully, this post will end up where it's supposed to, my last comment about this subject went to the forums. Anyhow, I've always been fascinated by analogies in understanding new phenomena.
Of course not all analogies hold up under scrutiny, but they are intriguing. For instance we are all familiar with the wavy rope or slinky to demonstrate sound waves, and sound waves to visualize light waves (except for that duality thing). The animal and plant reproductive process has it proponents in panspermia, though that is an inherently hot topic. For the Big Bang and inflation I have looked at bubbles in trying to see what may be going on. I certainly don't have any grand insight into causality or even what is there, but I find it fascinating and have a gut feeling there is more than a remote analogy at work. Take a look at these videos for instance. Just food for thought here, no revelations.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXsvy2tBJlU&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcdSsNF21Po&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMCf7SNUb-Q&NR=1
