The Grenade of Grenades?

This week's review winner tangles with what is respectfully known as The Terminagler; a 31mm Monster...

Sure would be an expensive weapon. Like $600 a piece and causing little damage on impact...aside from the shattering glass and emotional impact of seeing Naglers destroyed. Sure would love if mt foes starting throwing perfectly good 31mm Naglers at me.

Sorry for being so random. Halo 2 is so addicting though!

I'm just curious if Mr. Aguirre has ever tried a Leitz 30mm 88° eyepiece? I'm not knocking the TV Naglers, I own several as well as a 41 Panoptic, just curious how the 31mm Nagler & Leitz would compare. Clear Skies, Bill

First, I must admit that I’ve never looked thru a 31mm Nagler on any scope.

During last year’s sale I wanted to add to my collection of eyepieces that I use on a number of different telescopes, but my primary interest was for my Obsession 20-inch F/5. My final decision was to go with a 26mm Nagler rather than the 31 for several reasons: lower cost, size, and weight, there’s not much difference in true field (0.85 vs. 1.0 degrees) and power, but mostly I think that the 5mm exit pupil on the 26 was better than the 6mm exit pupil on the 31. In my case my pupils only open to a little more than 6mm when fully dark adapted. If I had a higher f-ratio or a refractor I may very well have gone with the 31mm.

George Normandin
