RSS feeds are easy to setup, email does not seem to be that costly. Is the problem bandwidth?

As a seller it is a real benefit to know thay my add was reaching the whole community. Essentially you need to sponsor the site to get the best access to the ads. Its unrealistic to expect Herb and Anacortes to provide A-mart gratis indefinitely.
But as for the "astromart community" as a whole I agree that it is a bad move since it further erodes everyone's equal access to the ads. Most of the sponsors who will qualify for email ad delivery are dealers or quasi-dealers. The new arrangement will give them first access to all of the ads, letting them to snap up any real bargains or unique items before most of the members have even had the chance to view the ads. As a seller, this necessarily limits your ads exposure. Of course if one of the sponsors buys your item, you,re fine for that particular item, but monopolies never encourage competition. In the long term the limited pool of buyers will hurt everyone.

Les
I think this is a wonderful move by astromart. By having ads sent to my email address, I have bought far too many things at too high a price. Hopefully with fewer people involved, I can get some better deals, that is,if I decide to check out the ads. Checking out ads will be a lot less frequently as it will be more of a hassle so that may lead to fewer purchases, a larger bank account, and ultimately to marital bliss.
Thank you so much, astromart, for your concern about my ultimate happiness.
